myGames went live!

myGames logo

It took Apple more then 2 months to approve, but finally it went live: myGames - the last in our series of catalog applications

myGames is a game catalog application with stunning graphics. It allows you to quickly add, find and view games in your library (with the ability to add new games by seeking by title using amazon.com - so all game details are filled in for you!). It also allows to lend games to friends, so you can easily keep track of who you gave that copy of "Unreal Tournament" to.

There is also a wish-list which you can use to store game titles you want to buy in the future. As soon as you bought the game, you move it with a single tap to your game library.

iVisit won the bronze Inca-Award medal!

iVisit - Netwalk's submission for the Inca-Award 2009 won a bronze medal for it's innovativity

iVisit is an application to locate cultural and social events nearby where you are. It uses the GPS device within the iPhone in order to fetch events nearby, today or the next days. The database with events is filled with information from uit-in-vlaanderen, as well as with user-generated events (entered through a web interface).

We hope to finish the application and send it to the appstore later this month, so stay tuned.

Once again, we're proud we won this award!

Birthday Reminder Push preview

As we already pointed out in the description of Birthday Reminder, we are completely setup for iPhone OS 3.0 and Push Notifications.

In order to show a sneak preview of what you can expect, we show a screenshot of our developer iPhone receiving a push notification for an upcoming birthday. In Birthday Reminder for iPhone 3.0, you can choose to either receive notifications by mail, push notification or both.

We even have some more neat features almost ready for submission: Facebook integration and themeing - so stay tuned for any updates!

Cool iPhone Developer apps

As an iPhone developer, you're interested in how your sales are doing, as well as how your customers like your apps. For both of these interests, a cool -opensource-iPhone app is available

  • AppSales is a very -very!- nice app which connects to iTunes Connect and fetches daily and weekly sales figures. It allows you to view sales by country, as well as by product. At startup it asks your iTunes Connect username/password (only once!) and all the rest happens automagically. Really great!

  • ReviewScraper does what it's name states, scraping app store reviews from all international stores. You just select (by seeking them in the App Store) the apps you want to monitor, and it fetches all reviews from all AppStores worldwide. Still too bad you cannot comment on any of the reviews, as it's really frustrating for a developer to see bad comments and no opportunity to contact the author in order to resolve their issues.

  • If you have any other interesting app for iPhone developer, feel free to leave a comment!

Inca Award 2009

iVisit logo

iVisit is Netwalk's submission for the Inca Award 2009. iVisit is an iPhone application which gives you information about all events nearby. Gone with those flyers and brochures, iVisit only delivers the relevant information, here and now!

Using the build-in GPS, all events nearby (within a configurable range) will be nicely shown. The detail view gives you all information about the event and a call to the organisation or the walking directions are only a few finger-taps away.

Below is a small promotional video in order to showcase the application.

Birthday Reminder goes live!

Birthday Reminder logo

Birthday Reminder - the very first Birthday application which delivers what you really need - a notification before your friends birthday - finally went live in the AppStore.

Birthday Reminder delivers what's missing in the iPhone OS since its introduction: getting notified of upcoming birthdays!

birthday_main_w.jpg

In iPhone OS 2.x - the current version - Birthday Reminder warns you of upcoming birthdays through email notifications.
You can even configure how many days in advance you want to be notified so you still have time to get a present.

In iPhone OS 3.x - available somewhere this summer - Birthday Reminder can also notify you of upcoming birthdays by the Apple Push Notifications. Yes, the code is already in there, it just needs to be activated as soon as 3.x becomes available.

Features

  • Gives a nice chronological list of all your contacts with their birthday
  • You can search through the list if you want to look up someone's birthday (QuickFind)
  • Quickly call/text/mail in the detailed person view
  • Delivers email notifications to warn you of upcoming birthdays
  • Ready for iPhone OS 3.x Push Notifications (free update!)
  • Subtle sound effects (can be disabled)
