Despite all testing a crash bug might make it into the final version delivered on the App Store. In order to tackle those issues as quickly as possible, it is essential to investigate the iPhone crash logs.
When you sync your iPhone with your Mac/PC, it transfers any crash logs to your computer. These can be found in:
- Mac OS X :~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/<DEVICE_NAME>
- Windows Vista: C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/
Crashlog files are named by the internal name of the app (e.g. Birthday.crashlog for Birthday Reminder, DVDLib.crashlog for Movies, ...). So if you notice a crash of one of our apps, please be so kind to send us the crashlog so we can fix the crash in a next version.

We just submitted Birthday Reminder 1.2 (which allows to create custom Birthdays) to Apple for review!
After struggling pretty long to get Push Notifications to work (which in the end was due to an anomaly in the Apple Developer Portal application) we are back on track with our developments, and this time we're proud to present our newest release of Birthday Reminder. In this new version the main feature added is the ability to add custom birthdays of persons/events (including a picture)!

We also improved the performance of Facebook imports, and reworked the settings page to be more straightforward.
In our next release, we plan to support more social networksites. But of course, we're always open for suggestions, so contact us if you want your great idea to be added to Birthday!

As we're almost ready with the development of Movies 1.8, we wanted to give you guys a sneak preview of the upcoming CoverFlow interface

When rotating your iPhone into landscape mode, Movies switches into the CoverFlow view, which allows you to browse through your library in true iPhone style - CoverFlow! When you tap on a cover, the cover is flipped and basic movie information is shown.
So stay tuned for Movies 1.8!

After releasing a lot of new & cool features to our products, it was time for a little holiday and so we went to Czechia for a week. Great country - you should really visit it ne time.
This means we're back in business now, and continue to develop new stuff for our existing apps (Birthday - stay tuned, Movies, myBooks & myGames) as well as implement new cool apps for you (we have some great ideas for holiday lovers - really!).
Stay tuned the coming weeks, as new stuff will be coming available on the App Store soon!

It took a while (after some hickups by Apple disapprovals and too fast fix cycli) but we're finally there: import/export works as expected. For Movies 1.7.2 we used a small beta crew in order to make sure import/export (backup/restore) is working on most common FTP clients
We also fixed some other minor bugs (mostly GUI stuff) and prepared for 1.8 which will be our next major milestone. We submitted 1.7.2 to Apple last weekend, so we hope it will be available somewhere next week (around the end of June - if Apple continues to be as slow as the last months).
The roadmap for Movies 1.8 looks promising:
- Export movie list by mail (HTML/CSV)
- Extract MPAA, rating, country info from IMDB
- Fullscreen coverview
- Scaling manual cover
- Random movie selection
- Lend date
For 2.0, which will probably be the next major version after 1.8, we plan some other goodies: import from other movie sources (Amazon, ...), import through barcode, peer2peer movie exchange, seasons-support, coverflow, ... We have wild ideas in order to stay the best movie collector on the iPhone. Please continue to support us by

Finally we are ready to release Snabiz 1.0.1 - our bugfix release - which is compatible with iPhone OS 3.x
Snabiz - the first and only OCR application on the iPhone which OCR's without sending any data over the network - is ready for usage on iPhone OS 3.x.
The results are astonishing: with the new iPhone 3GS, business card scanning reaches an accuracy of 95% with our Tesseract library. As mentioned in our userguide, you need a special case in order to get decent results with the iPhone 3G but this is no longer required when you use Snabiz with the 3GS.
So cross your fingers and hope Apple releases Snabiz 1.0.1 quickly!

Apple seems to be taking ages for approving updates to applications these days. And that's annoying for us, but even more annoying for you, application users.
Updating App Store applications always need to pass through an Apple approval cycle. In march/april this year, approval cycli tend to take only 3 days. Nowadays, probably with all 3.0 hassle and In-App-Payment testingas well as Push-Notifications & Peer-To-Peer communication testing the Apple elves tend to take multiple weeks!
We submitted a new version of Movies (note the new name - more on that later - copyright infringement stuff) to Apple about 2 weeks ago - still no sign of Apple. Update of Birthday Reminder 3 weeks ago - nothing yet. A new app which we submitted last week - nothing neither. Pretty frustrating on this side as lots of people are asking for new features/bugfixes and while we tend to fix things pretty quickly, we are with our back against the wall when it comes to approval time.
So - if someone from Apple reads this - please find a solution for your approval cycli as it is not working the way it is right now. People want to get those updates in the field quickly!

Our latest version of Movies should really please movie fans with big lists: we did major improvements with respect to scrolling, introduced a flat last (we used to have a shelf view only) and added an index on the right hand side!
And if that's not enough, we also added possibility to customize the ignore words while sorting by title (like The, An, A, ...). Movies now also allows to open the IMDB page within Movies (so we do not launch Safari, but open a local window which results in Movies not being quit when opening Safari). These last two options can be tweaked in the Movies settings page.
 [Shelf view with index]
[List view with index]
As you can see, the featurelist for 1.7 is pretty long and interesting. If you did not grab your copy yet, grab it while it's hot!

Birthday Reminder 1.1.1 is submitted to the App Store a few days ago and is ready to push birthday reminders to your iPhone OS 3.0!
As we promised during the initial launch of Birthday Reminder - the one and only app in the App Store which reminds you in a proactive way about upcoming birthdays - Birthday Reminder is ready to notify you of upcoming birthdays through the new Push Mechanism available in iPhone OS 3.0.
So, as soon as the Apple elves release are newest version, you will be able to configure Birthday Reminder to send out push notifications (like the one shown in the screenshot below).

As always: comments, enhancements and even bug reports are always welcome!

We just released a new version of Movies to Apple (v1.6) which allows to import and export movies to eXtreme Movie Manager, a movie manager for desktop computers.
As this is a long requested features from lots of Movies users, we're very proud to introduce this feature: Movies is able to export its complete movie database (including covers!) in an XML format, which can be interpreted by eXtreme Movie Manager (XMM).

Of course, as our development team is being pushed to deliver new cool features almost weekly, we can highlight some other neat features in 1.6:
- Import and export from eXtreme Movie Manager
- Filter movies (instead of search)
- Backup and restore of internal database through FTP
